The line is just where I expected it to be on this game. N.C. Charlotte has impressive wins over Southern Illinois, Davidson, Wake Forest, and Appalachian St., all solid basketball schools with known reputations!!! Hofstra was a force to be reckoned with last year, making it to the 3rd round of the NIT!!! This year has been a whole new story in the making. Hofstra has struggled to a 1-5 record with losses to Holy Cross, St. Francis N.Y., and Stony Brook, teams that Hofstra is expected to and should beat on a normal basis.
Hofstra will struggle with this N.C. Charlotte team that strives off of the defensive side of the ball, allowing opposing teams to hit only 35% of their shots in their last 5 contests. Charlotte has been slow out of the gates in nearly all their games, but Head Coach Bobby Lutz is great at making halftime adjustments, and having his team perform very well after the intermission!!! Hofstra has allowed their last 3 opponents to hit 48% of their field goals, and I see nothing changing in this matchup!!! 3- Points will be no problem for N.C. Charlotte to cover!!!
